On Monday, 28th November 2016, our chairman, Professor Robert Winston was featured on BBC Panorama in which the reporters investigated common practice of selling “add-on” treatments to malinformed patients at private IVF clinics. As recent studies prove most of those treatments have no impact on the outcomes of IVF and some of them may  be outright dangerous. Professor Robert Winston told Panorama that he thinks most add-ons are unnecessary and unjustifed. He also spoke about the importance of and the need for evidence-based medicine. In addition, he pointed out that HFEA (Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority) should play a greater role in protecting patients.
