Charlotte Holmes, Miss England 2012, is an ambassador for Professor Winston’s charity, Genesis Research Trust. The 25 year old model was one of the first babies to be conceived by IVF at Professor Winston’s clinic at Hammersmith Hospital.
“It’s a real honour to become an ambassador for Genesis Research Trust a charity so close to my and my family’s hearts, born to parents whose last hope of a family was their appointment with Professor Winston at the Wolfson Family Clinic at Hammersmith Hospital in 1987. I want to do my utmost to further raise awareness and funds for this inspirational team whose pioneering work directly resulted in my existence and I am very much looking forward to working with Lord Winston and the charity to achieve these goals.”
I have been presenting for the past 15 years including The Baby Channel and for 9 years The Baby and Maternity Shows across the UK. I am also a mum of two children, Phoebe and Charlie. I am very passionate about the Mother and Parenting world and have been lucky enough to share the stage and interview Professor Robert Winston for the past couple of years.
From doing this I have learnt more about this amazing charity Genesis Research Trust and all the vital research into prevention and cures for many conditions that affect so many women and babies. You soon realise that having children is such a miracle and not all pregnancies are straightforward. With two of my closest friends tragically losing babies this was definitely a charity I wanted to get behind. I am honoured to be asked to become an ambassador for the charity and I am keen to raise awareness. The first being one of the challenges of a lifetime in 2015. I hope you will join me!
